As a business owner I wear many hats and confront many challenges. My career is a reflection of what has prepared me for these challenges. From architecting, writing custom software, planning and installing a custom iPIX camera system for the G8 Conference to hovering 30 feet over a thoroughfare in a bucket truck to perform a first-ever camera install; as a part of a two person division, presenting a design to Samsung for core firmware in a new chip; from developing a custom OS build of Android with Host Card Emulation for a customer before Google had HCE, to designing and hand-building a custom tag for a medical implant prototype, these are some of the unique opportunities I’ve had during my career, opportunities that have shaped me, and in turn, shaped Ingenutec.
In my off time, I’m a cyclist, a runner, and a dancer, with a bit of scuba, hiking and rock climbing thrown in. I value creativity, adventure and relationships. Spending time with my wonderful significant other and our two Australian Shepherd / Great Pyrenees pups; flying to see my amazing daughters and traveling to interesting destinations; celtic punk sits along side classic rock and the sounds of Herb Alpert in my music library; cruising around downtown Knoxville and commuting to work on a OneWheel, these are all part of what describes me.
The common threads connecting it all are a “hands-on” desire and approach, the willingness to take on a challenge, to attack a problem with an unknown path to a solution and a love and appreciation for those in my life. It is this attitude, desire and devotion that led to the creation of Ingenutec in the summer of 2009. I thrive on challenges, creating meaningful connections, creating new solutions to difficult problems and on rolling up my sleeves and digging in to create something great. This is Robert and this is what I bring to the clients of Ingenutec.
